If you don’t have time to travel to the Appenzeller Huus, the lifestyle resort comes to the city centre. The temporary Forest Spa tempts you to spend quality time in Zurich city centre. From 3 April, five essential treatments will be offered at Schützengasse 4 – all based on tried-and-tested Appenzeller Huus recipes, of course.
The sound of rippling water and the scent of the forest can be felt as soon as you enter the Forest Spa pop-up. The Alpstein greets you in the background of the reception and a cosy clearing invites you to sit down by the spring. Yellow daffodils and primroses send spring greetings. This nature pavilion right by the main railway station welcomes those seeking peace and quiet for a well-earned break from everyday life. Dreaming a little? Yes, please – the experienced spa team at the Appenzeller Huus is already waiting for you.
The two-storey Forest Spa with its typical wooden elements represents the Appenzeller Huus and the soon-to-open HUUS QUELL (member of Leading Hotels of the World). Under the general management of Tim-Martin Weber, a lifestyle wellness community continues to grow in Gonten that is unrivalled in Switzerland. The Forest Spa, which is expected to stay in Zurich for three months, presents the most effective treatments – which of course is no substitute for a longer relaxing stay at the Appenzeller Huus.
Natural herbal oils and the unique Shazay Hair Spa lounger
Even a ‘taster session’ is a real treat: the ‘Relax’ and ‘Recharge’ massages, which can be booked for 30 or 60 minutes, provide deep relaxation and revitalisation thanks to the valuable Appenzell herbal oils. With the power of cedar, myrtle or rosemary, mint and other gifts of nature, you can switch off immediately. The ‘Ground Feet’ foot massage is also a soothing experience that supports the lymphatic flow and makes it easier to remove metabolic products.
Anyone who works a lot with their head will be delighted with the activating ‘Up Head’ head massage on the Shazay Hair Spa lounger. This luxury ritual uses diamond-filtered water and nourishes the hair and scalp with precious substances. The Forest Spa also offers ‘Body Reg’, an impressive CO2 anti-cellulite & detox treatment. All treatments include an Appenzell herbal tea ceremony.

ABOUT THE APPENZELLER HUUS
At 902 metres above sea level, a contemporary retreat and recreation area called ‘Appenzeller Huus’ has been under construction in the historic village of Gonten since 2023. The three-star superior Hotel Huus Bären (20 rooms) and Hotel Huus Löwen (24 rooms) are already welcoming guests, while the opening of the five-star Hotel Huus Quell with one of the most modern and innovative wellness areas in Switzerland is planned for autumn 2025. 43 serviced flats complete the hotel resort.
