Re-opening of the sit hut in Arosa

Interior sit hütte Arosa

In December, the time has finally come – the sit hütte, the first magical boho ski hut in the Swiss mountains, opens its doors and invites you to enjoy an unforgettable experience in the midst of the majestic mountain landscape of Arosa. While alpine chic and tradition often dominate in this country, the sit hütte sets a fresh, colourful accent and deliberately breaks with the classic ski hut style. Under Mirko Schadegg, the sit hütte was already a special place where being different and an informal atmosphere were emphasised – and it is precisely this tradition that is now being continued authentically and with new energy.

A splash of colour in the mountains

You will look in vain for deer antlers, traditional patterns and white sheepskins here – a breath of fresh air is blowing in the sit hütte. Vibrant colours and a creative mix of patterns open up a whole new world. The entrance area surprises with a pink kick of freshness, while Moroccan floor tiles and playful wallpaper attract everyone’s attention inside. Rounded off by handmade mosaics and numerous mirrors, the interior unfolds a magical atmosphere. This colourful oasis in the mountains invites you to marvel, linger and enjoy and is a special place to spend time with friends and family.

Design with heart and soul

The creative mastermind behind the unique interior of the sit hütte is Rebecca Morgenthaler, who develops unconventional furnishing concepts with her company Mexicola Living. With the sit hütte, she has deliberately chosen a completely new path and created a ski hut that is completely out of the ordinary. ‘It was clear to me from the outset that I didn’t want to design a typical ski hut – I wanted to create a magical place that would surprise guests, both young and old, and enchant them as soon as they entered,’ explains Rebecca. The result is an incomparable hotspot full of creative energy, cosy charm and surprising details.

A new era

The sit hütte is now managed by Reto Giezendanner, the new tenant and face of the hut. With his commitment and passion, he gives the project a personal touch. Together with his partners Philipp Kägi and Matthias Maiwald, he is driving the project forward. Reto has also brought Daniel Lüscher into the team, who as catering manager brings his experience and passion for mountain gastronomy to the sit hut.

Never change a winning team – especially on the menu

The sit hütte’s popular burgers remain an indispensable part of the menu and are now complemented by fresh, creative accents. The sit hütte will also remain a self-ordering restaurant, where guests can easily order directly at their table using a QR code. New additions include handmade pasta dishes and innovative starters, which are mainly composed of regional ingredients. Chef Matthias, who already caused a sensation last winter with his pop-up ‘OVIO’ in Arosa, is taking the culinary diversity of the sit hütte to a new level. With his uncompromising demand for quality and sophistication, he has deliberately kept the menu small and refined so that every dish is prepared with the utmost care and attention to detail. As a tribute to his time at OVIO, guests can also look forward to special events such as the popular Ramen Night, which brings Japanese flavours to the mountains.

The sun terrace – a place in the sun

At the centre of the sit hütte is the spacious sun terrace, which invites you to linger in the cosy Goldenhour Lounge. Here you can not only enjoy the longest hours of sunshine in the region, but also the magnificent panoramic view of the imposing mountain landscape. The perfect combination of alpine nature and boho charm.

Snow Glow: Party series with 80s, 90s and party hits

With its own party line Snow Glow, exclusive to the sit hütte, the Boho Skihütte brings a breath of fresh air – or rather, a fresh vibe – to Arosa. These events take guests on a journey back in time to the best 80s, 90s and party hits and guarantee an exuberant atmosphere in the mountains with that certain ‘glow effect’.

A place that will be remembered

The sit hütte offers an inviting, uncomplicated ambience for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary – whether young or old. Alpine lifestyle and magical vibes merge here to create a unique combination that is unrivalled in the Swiss Alps. Thanks to its location directly at the gondola station and on the hiking trail, the sit hütte is not only ideal for skiers and snowboarders, but also easily accessible for pedestrians. A visit to the sit hütte leaves its mark – not only on your heart, but also on social media. From December, this magical boho oasis enchants with its unique charm.

On Sunday, 15 December, the sit hütte celebrated its reopening. We were there too and share our great impressions with you! Thank you for this wonderful day and a great start to the winter season to the whole sit hütte team, lots of joy, fun and a large portion of glitter✨🪩
