Vini e Distillati Angelo Delea has been active in the wine sector in Ticino since 1983. 40 years of history of fine wines, grappas and balsamic vinegar. Love for the territory, tradition and innovation form the basis of the Delea winery. Founded by Angelo Delea, it is now run with the same passion by his sons David and Cesare. The best wines include Carato and Diamante. In 1995, Angelo Delea’s intuition revolutionised the presentation of the Swiss aperitif by producing Ticino sparkling wines such as «Charme» and «Noir», which are now among the best sparkling wines in the region. Finally, «Le Morbide» Ticino grappa is produced in the company’s own distillery and the best Ticino balsamic vinegars are made from cooked must of American grapes in the vinegar factory.

A story of good wines, love of tradition and careful innovation. A story that we owe to Angelo Delea and that is continued today by his sons, David and Cesare, with the same passion and dedication. It all began in Losone in 1983, in the heart of Ticino, which, thanks to its mild microclimate and rich territory, produces the best fruit for wines of the highest quality. Over the years, Delea Vini has developed to a high level of quality, as evidenced by numerous national and international awards. Today it is an innovative and spectacular company with a group of over 40 people, including winemakers, professionals and wine lovers. Delea produces fine wines such as Diamante, Merlot Carato, Carato Riserva, Carato Bianco, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Apocalisse, Chiar di Luna and the sparkling wines Charme, Charme Rosé and Noir. To achieve all this, 20 hectares of vineyards are cultivated and around 200 winegrowers deliver their best grapes to the wine cellar every year. Around 600000 bottles are produced each year. The wine cellar is always open for its loyal customers and wine lovers. The aim is to offer an exciting, unique and captivating experience for all the senses. The family atmosphere of the Delea company and the constant presence of Angelo, David and Cesare have made it possible to organise guided tours. The tour includes a visit to the wine cellar, the distillery and the balsamic vinegar area (Acetaia). Vini e Distillati Angelo Delea is one of the most important producers in Ticino and Switzerland and has carefully selected its partners who are able to convey all the emotions that guests feel when they visit the Delea Wines company.
The winery in Losone
Angelo Delea’s cellar in Losone is a spectacular place with high vaulted ceilings and subdued lighting so as not to disturb the maturation of the wine with its flavours and aromas. This is the ambience that one perceives in the magnificent cellar of Angelo Delea in Losone. It is a unique space that has been thought through down to the smallest detail: a depth of 8 metres and a layer of 2 metres of gravel above the vaults ensure a constant temperature of 13/14 degrees and constant humidity all year round, ideal for maturing wines in barriques.

The vineyards of Delea
Delea’s vineyards are the result of careful selection and professional care of countless selected grape varieties to produce beautiful, healthy and juicy grapes that become unique wines, vinegars and grappas, selected during the harvest season by Angelo Delea. In particular, Delea grows Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon and red grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon on its estates (totalling around 20 hectares) to produce the sparkling Brut Charme and Noir from a selection of Champagne clones of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.

In this way, Delea allows the wine to breathe, provides it with an ideal environment with the best barrels and ensures that the wine can rest undisturbed to obtain a perfect and flawless maturation. In addition, modernity and careful technological development allow us to offer our customers an end product of high quality and food safety.
